Repiping in Tolleson, AZ
Weak showers, rusty water and leaks at old threaded joints are classic signs of worn-out pipe in older Tolleson homes. A repipe fixes all three.
- Galvanized replacement
- Better water pressure
- New fixture shutoffs
Why Tolleson Homes Need Repiping
Many Tolleson homes are decades old, and a lot of them still have galvanized steel water lines. Galvanized pipe was common for years, but it corrodes from the inside. As rust builds up, the inside of the pipe shrinks, water pressure drops, and water can come out discolored. The threaded joints, the thinnest part of the pipe, eventually leak.
Repairing one galvanized leak often leads to another nearby, because working on old pipe can crack it. At a certain point, replacing the pipe is cheaper than chasing leaks.

Signs It Is Time
- Water pressure that has faded over the years
- Brown or rusty water after the water sits
- Leaks at threaded fittings
- Visible rust on exposed pipe
- Different pressure at different fixtures
- Shutoff valves that are seized or leak when turned
A quick look at the pipe near your water heater or main shutoff tells a lot. Gray metal pipe with threaded fittings is galvanized.

- New supply lines, typically PEX, run through the attic and walls
- New shutoff valves at every fixture
- A new main shutoff at the house
- Water service line replacement if needed
- Pressure test before walls are closed
- A walkthrough of the finished system

Repiping in Stages
A full repipe is a bigger investment, and some Tolleson homeowners prefer to do it in stages. That can work well when planned properly.
A common approach is to start with the lines causing the most trouble, often the hot water lines or the lines serving the main bathroom, then do the rest later. Another is to replace the service line and main shutoff first, since that affects pressure to the whole house.
If you want to stage the work, we will plan it so each phase connects cleanly to the next and nothing has to be redone. We will also be honest if doing it all at once makes more sense for your home.
PEX or Copper?
Most of our repipes use PEX because it is flexible, holds up well to temperature changes and needs fewer fittings, which means fewer places to leak. Copper is available if you prefer it. We will explain the tradeoffs for your home and budget.
Pipe Work Reviews From the Tolleson Area
I was referred to Alex because the scope of work was beyond what my usual plumber could handle, and I couldn’t be happier with the recommendation.
S. Camilla Madison-Wilson
Wow! I have owned several homes and have use trades extensively. Alex was the best experience I have had across the board, communications, speed, expertise.
I had a water main leak on a holiday weekend. Contacted Alex and he arrived within an hour. The pipe was deep and a lot of dirt and rocks had to be removed. Alex carefully removed the ornamental rocks, used a tarp to contain the dirt and when finished the yard looked like new.
Thank you Alex
