Glendale repiping

Whole House Repiping in Glendale, AZ

Low pressure, rusty water and one leak after another usually mean the pipes are done. We repipe Glendale homes with new supply lines and fixture shutoffs, with a clear plan before any wall is opened.

  • Galvanized replacement
  • Slab leak reroutes
  • New shutoffs at every fixture

Why Older Glendale Homes Need Repiping

Many homes in central Glendale, especially those built before the 1970s around downtown and Catlin Court, were plumbed with galvanized steel water lines. Galvanized pipe corrodes from the inside. Over decades, rust and scale narrow the pipe until very little water gets through, and the threaded joints start to leak.

Homes from the 1980s and 1990s, like many in Arrowhead Ranch, usually have copper. Copper lasts longer, but after thirty or forty years under a slab, pinhole leaks become common.

When a home has galvanized pipe, or has had repeated leaks in its copper, repiping is often the most cost-effective long-term fix.

Signs Your Glendale Home Needs New Pipes

  • Water pressure that has slowly dropped, especially at showers
  • Rusty or brown water after the water sits overnight
  • Leaks at threaded fittings under sinks or near the water heater
  • More than one slab leak or pinhole leak in a few years
  • Visible corrosion on exposed pipe
  • You are remodeling and the walls are already open

If your pressure is fine at the hose bib but weak inside, the problem is often the pipe inside the house, not the city supply.

What a Glendale Repipe Involves

  1. Walkthrough. We look at the current pipe and plan where new lines will run, usually through the attic and down interior walls.
  2. Protection. Floors and furniture near work areas are covered.
  3. Small openings. We open walls only where the pipe needs to pass.
  4. New lines and shutoffs. Every fixture gets new supply lines and a new shutoff valve.
  5. Pressure test. The system is tested before anything is closed.
  6. Walkthrough. You see what was done and where the shutoffs are.

We usually recommend PEX for repipes because it is flexible, handles heat well and needs fewer fittings. For more on materials, see our main Peoria repiping page.

Repiping During a Glendale Remodel

If you are remodeling a kitchen or bathroom in an older Glendale home, it is the best possible time to replace old pipe. The walls are open, the flooring may be coming up, and the cost of access is already part of the project.

We work with homeowners and their contractors to replace supply lines while walls are open, move fixtures to new locations, and relocate drain and vent lines when layouts change. Tanya Klymenko’s kitchen project, where her sink moved to a different wall and the drain and water lines had to follow, is a good example.

Even if you are only remodeling one room, it is worth asking whether the pipe feeding that room is in good shape. Replacing a short run of galvanized now can save opening a brand-new wall later.

Partial Repipes

Not every Glendale home needs a whole house repipe. If the problem is limited to one area, like the hot water lines or the lines under the slab, a partial repipe can solve it for less.

What People Near Glendale Tell Us

Have you ever tried replacing your tub spout and ended up breaking the pipe off inside the wall? When you quit crying call Alex. He did a great job and saved the day. Thanks Alex!

Andy Anderson

Alex helped me put my dream kitchen to life! I needed to move my sink to a perpendicular wall, which meant moving the drain and water lines. He communicated well throughout the project, even when issues came up. I would definitely hire him for any plumbing repairs in the future!

Glendale Repiping FAQs

How long does it take to repipe a Glendale home?

Many single-story homes take a few days, depending on size and access. We give you a timeline upfront.

Will I have water during the repipe?

We plan the work so water is back on most evenings.

Do I need to replace my water heater when I repipe?

Not necessarily. If it is in good shape, we connect the new lines to it.

Is galvanized pipe dangerous?

Not in itself, but it corrodes, restricts flow and leaks. Replacing it improves pressure and water quality.
