Surprise repiping
Repiping and Pipe Repair in Surprise, AZ
Newer Surprise homes do not usually need a full repipe, but brittle CPVC and failing fittings can make one worth it. We give you honest options from a single repair to a whole house repipe.
- Partial and whole house
- CPVC replacement
- Slab reroutes

Repiping a Newer Home
Most Surprise homes were built in the 1990s and 2000s with CPVC or PEX supply lines. These do not corrode the way old galvanized pipe does, so full repipes are less common here than in older cities. But there are situations where repiping makes sense in Surprise:
- Brittle CPVC. CPVC can become brittle with age and heat, especially in attics. Once it starts cracking, it often cracks again when disturbed.
- Failing fittings. If leaks keep coming from the same type of fitting, the problem is likely throughout the house.
- Repeat slab leaks. Rerouting affected lines out of the slab stops the cycle.
- Remodels. If walls are open, it is a good time to replace aging lines.

Partial Repipe or Whole House?
Not every Surprise home needs every pipe replaced. Often, it makes sense to replace just the hot water lines, just the lines under the slab, or just one wing of the house.
We look at where the leaks have happened, what the pipe is, and how it is holding up, then give you options at different levels. You decide what fits your budget and plans.
For slab leaks specifically, rerouting the affected line through the attic or walls is often the smartest fix. See our Surprise leak detection page for more on finding them.
Main Water Line Replacement
The water service line runs from the meter to your house, usually buried under the front yard. If it leaks, you may see a soggy spot, sinking gravel, or just a high water bill. We replace damaged sections or the full line, along with a new main shutoff at the house.
We also replace pressure reducing valves, which protect your home’s plumbing from high street pressure. For more on repiping materials and process, see our main Peoria repiping page.

What to Expect From a Partial Repipe
A partial repipe in a Surprise home usually targets one of three things: the hot water lines (which fail first in heat), lines under the slab that have leaked, or one wing of the house where a particular fitting keeps failing.
The work is similar to a full repipe, just smaller. We plan where the new lines will run, usually through the attic, open small access points where the lines drop into walls, connect the new pipe, and pressure test before closing up. Many partial repipes take a day or two.
Because the rest of the plumbing stays in place, we pay close attention to where new pipe connects to old. Those transitions need to be solid so they do not become the next leak.
Attic Heat and CPVC
Surprise attics get extremely hot in summer. CPVC running through an attic ages faster in that heat, and older CPVC can crack when it is bumped or flexed. If you have CPVC in the attic and it has started cracking, replacing it is usually the better choice.

Surprise Repiping Questions
Does my newer Surprise home need a repipe?
Usually not, unless you have brittle CPVC, repeated fitting failures or several slab leaks.
What is wrong with CPVC?
It can become brittle over time, especially with heat. Brittle CPVC can crack when disturbed.
Can you repipe just part of my house?
Yes. Partial repipes are common in newer homes.
Do I need HOA approval for a repipe?
Interior repiping usually does not need it. Exterior digging for a service line may require notice.
