Buckeye leak detection

Leak Detection in Buckeye, AZ

Big lots, long water lines and well systems make Buckeye leaks harder to find. We narrow it down before digging, so you are not paying to trench the whole yard.

  • Long yard lines
  • Well system clues
  • Slab leaks

Long Lines Mean More Places to Leak

On larger Buckeye properties, the water line from the meter or well to the house can be long. A leak anywhere along that run can go unnoticed for a long time, especially in desert landscaping where the water soaks in before it ever surfaces.

If you are on city water, the first sign is usually a higher bill. If you are on a well, the clues are different: the well pump runs more often than it should, or the pressure tank cycles on and off when no one is using water.

Either way, we isolate the house from the yard line first, then narrow down where on the line the leak is before digging.

Well Systems and Leaks

If your Buckeye home is on a private well, a leak does not show up on a water bill. Here is what to watch for:

  • The well pump kicks on when no water is being used
  • The pressure tank cycles on and off frequently
  • Your electric bill goes up from the pump running more
  • Soggy ground along the line from the well to the house
  • Lower pressure in the house

If you notice any of these, shut off the water at the house and see whether the pump still cycles. If it does, the leak is between the well and the house.

Slab Leaks in Buckeye Homes

Newer Buckeye homes in Verrado, Sundance and similar communities can still have slab leaks from fitting failures or pipe rubbing under the slab. The signs are the same as anywhere: warm floors, a running water sound, or a high bill.

We locate the leak and explain your options: repair at the leak or reroute. For more on our process, see our main Peoria leak detection page. If the service line needs to be replaced, see repiping in Buckeye.

Irrigation on Big Buckeye Lots

Larger Buckeye lots usually mean larger irrigation systems, with long runs of drip line and multiple valves. They are one of the most common sources of water loss we see, and they can look exactly like a house leak on the water bill.

Before calling, try this: turn off irrigation at the controller and check the water meter. If the meter stops moving, the leak is in the irrigation system. If it keeps going, the leak is in the house, the service line or somewhere else we can help with.

Desert Soil Hides Leaks

Buckeye’s dry soil can absorb a surprising amount of water before anything shows on the surface. A service line leak might never make a puddle. Instead, it shows up as a bill that climbs, a patch of weeds that stays green, or ground that settles. Paying attention to those small signs catches leaks before they get expensive.

Leak Repairs Reviews From the Buckeye Area

Wow! I have owned several homes and have use trades extensively. Alex was the best experience I have had across the board, communications, speed, expertise.

I had a water main leak on a holiday weekend. Contacted Alex and he arrived within an hour. The pipe was deep and a lot of dirt and rocks had to be removed. Alex carefully removed the ornamental rocks, used a tarp to contain the dirt and when finished the yard looked like new.

Thank you Alex
